BARI COSTASUD

Bari has suffered from the detrimental effects of reckless land consumption in the aftermath of World War II. The urban expansion during the latter half of the 20th century has resulted in fragmented, and sporadic growth. Three key measures have been proposed to address these issues: Removal of the coastal road, constructed 80 years ago. The area between the coastline and the railway will be transformed into coastal park. Creation of natural landscape openings amidst the scattered structures in the northwest. Demolition of low-value architectural elements will be making way for terraced houses that form small green neighborhoods, harmoniously integrating with the remaining structures. Reimagining via Gentile as the central backbone of the district, rather than a mere traffic artery. These proposed actions aim to rectify the past urban development shortcomings and foster a more sustainable and cohesive urban environment in Bari South Coast.
